JFO Junior Shield

Hailey completed a memorable cup double after beating Spartan Rangers 3-2 to lift the Junior Shield.

In a scrappy first half Sean King gave Hailey the lead. However a quick Dave Large double saw Spartan take a 2-1 lead into the break.  Good all round performances from Dave Large and Russell Steele for Spartan and Hailey respectively kept the game alive, with both sides squandering chances, but an hour into the match, Joel King popped up to level the match after rounding the keeper to slot the ball home.

The crowd were brilliant throughout, with both sets of fans singing and chanting in a competition all of their own, creating a lively atmosphere and with 15 minutes to go, the King brothers completed a family hat-trick, as joint Hailey Manager Dan King found himself in front of an empty net to head home a Joel King cross.

Premier League

Already relegated Aston had a big say in who is to go down with them this season after being thrashed 9-1 by fellow relegation candidates North Leigh A. Matt Taylor was the undoubted star of the match hitting an unbelievable seven goals. (A record this season). Harrison Hoyles and Luke Simmons also added to the score line.  Pete Saunders hit Astons reply.

North Leigh who are now one place above relegation, are level points with FC Nomads who occupy the other spot in the drop zone and have already completed their fixtures. However North Leigh have a game against Hanborough remaining and if they can avoid a defeat of anything greater than 1-0 will remain in the Premier Division next season.

Division One

With Champions Bampton Town and promoted Cassington having completed all their fixtures, the only thing left unsettled was who would occupy the second relegation place.

West Witney Reserves needed a win to secure Division One football next season. However, it was not to be as they went down 4-1 to Ducklington Reserves.  Darren Aston scored West's last goal in Division One for the season but it was not enough as Jake Souch hit a brace which was accompanied by goals from Dan Molony and Sam Duthie.

Mid-table Milton went down 6-4 to Witney Wanderers who sit a place above them. Dave Jeynes, Ollie Croxton, Ally Lang and Phil Benfield all found the net for Milton, but goal machine Chris Bennell hit a four timer, with Mark Saxel and Luke Finch adding.

Division Two

It what was seemingly a 0-0 bore draw between Fieldtown and FC Nomads Reserves, the visitors came out on top. The point earned in this game gives Nomads who are currently second from bottom the chance to leapfrog Fieldtown and escape the dropzone. Both sides still have games to play.

Division Three

In what was both sides most important game of the season, it was Southrop who came out on top as they faced FC Chequers. Both sides had their turn at the top of the table this season but found themselves playing each other for second place against each other on the last game. Nothing short of a win would do for Southrop and they had to come from 2-1 down at half time to do that. Kevin Davies and Ollie Smith had put Chequers in pole position, but Urim Fejzulahu, and star midfielder Shane Imms (2), hit back ensuring a 3-2 win and Division Two football next season.

Ducklington A won 4-0 at Milton Reserves to complete their fixture list. Steve Rapley, Mark Eaton and Dave Baker were amongst the scorers.

Two Rivers ended their season on a high beating Spartan Rangers A 4-3. Phil Mills hit a brace in his last game as manager, with Steve Burke and Bartek Lachwicz adding. Ryan Hunt (2) and Tom Merchant replied for Spartan.

Premier League

The race for the Premier Division top spot took another twist on Saturday as 4th place Charlbury Town beat favourites Freeland 2-0. Mark Dorey and Martin Grimsley both found the back of the net and breathed a little more life into title race. Freeland have 3 games in hand but have yet to face leaders Ducklington who are now joint top on goal difference.

Ducklington now share top spot with Hailey, separated only by goal difference. Hailey go level with Ducklington after a 3-0 win over now Aston. Darryl Steele, Joel King and Tom Fletcher with the goals. This defeat ensured Aston were relegated after a tough season back in the Premier Division.

FC Nomads took a massive step towards their survival in the top flight after a slender 1-0 win over relegation threatened North Leigh A. The “6 pointer” was settled by a first half Reece Powell goal. North Leigh look destined for Division one football next year unless they are able to win both of their remaining games making up a huge goal difference in the process.

Division One

Newly crowned champions Bampton Town saw no reason to let up on their cracking form after beating Ducklington Reserves 4-1. Nathan Beckett (2), Carl Williams and Jason Trinder were all on target with Ross Clarkson getting the consolation for the visitors.

Cassington secured their promotion to the Premier League with a 3-0 win over FC Mills. Dave Cooper hit a brace with Mark Hamilton getting the third.

West Witney Reserves climbed out of the relegation zone after a superb 4-2 win over Minster Lovell. Russell Collier hit a double while Darren Aston and John Smith added. Dan Smith replied with a brace for Minster But it was not enough.

Eynsham A slipped into the bottom two after earning only a point in a 3-3 draw against Milton. Tim Wharton, Ashley Blackley and Rob Lakey all scored for the home side matching goal by Ollie Croxton (2) and Ali Laing for Milton.

Division Two

With the Division Two title already secured by Brize Norton Reserves, the focus turned to the bottom of the table where Minster Lovell Reserves and Fieldtown fight for survival.

Fieldtown were unable to bolster their hopes, going down 2-0 to Tackley and going to the foot of the table in the process. Chris Betreen and Ethan Penny were on target.

However Minster Lovell Reserves now stand a slim chance of surviving with an impressive 4-1 win over Charlbury Town Reserves. Lewis Stayt (2), Dan Smith and Ian Reynolds gave Minster an unassailable lead. However Town did hit back through Ian Jarvis.

Division Three

FC Chequers now only need to win their remaining game to secure promotion after taking all three points against Aston Reserves in a 5-2 win. Tom Madden scored twice for the home side but Chequers had the game sewn up in the first half with goals from Olly Smith (2), Dan Harwood, Steve Foster and Kev Davies.

A single goal from Southrop’s Bob Truman was enough for all three points in a 1-0 win over Hailey Reserves. Southrop  will play Chequers in their last game of the season to see who secures the second promotion spot.

Kingham AB Reserves finished on a high beating Witney Royals Reserves 7-1. Andy Watson, returning from injury hit a hat trick against the leagues bottom side. Gareth Tyak (2), Sean Case and Colin Edwards added further goals in a second half blitz. Mike Piper replied in vain for Royals.

Piotr Wodz and James Herring were on target for Two Rivers as they overcame Milton Reserves 2-1. Keyth Boner replied for Milton.
