February 23rd
OFA Charity Cup
Premier Division Hailey cruised into the semi finals with a comfortable 6-2 win over Worcester College. Player manager Dan King was undoubtedly the star of the show, scoring a hat trick however, he was almost outshone by brother Sean King who scored with a 20 yard overhead kick. Mike Bolt and Ross Flemming grabbed the other two goals.
Charlbury Town went down 3-1 in extra time to Stonesfield.
Junior Challenge Cup R1
John Leader scored twice in Freeland Reserves 3-0 win over Southrop. Paul Salter scored the other.
Supplementary Cup
Group 1
Wychwood Forest and Eynsham Sports both went through to the quarter finals of the Supplementary Cup, despite Wychwood earning a 2-0 win. Ollie Bush and a bullet own goal from Chris Thatcher were the names on the score sheet. The result means that both teams stay in the top two of Group One, with identical records.
Ducklington A and Brize Norton A played out their final cup game which ended in a drab 0-0 draw.
Group 2
Witney Royals Reserves earned the point they needed to secure their passage to the quarter finals with a 2-2 draw with Aston Reserves. Joe Coutts and Tim Green scored for Aston with Dan Price and Colin Morris scoring for the group leaders
Spartan Rangers A moved into second place with a 4-0 win over Freeland A. An out of sorts Freeland side struggled to get a foothold in the game and Spartan ran the show from start to finish. Joel Graham pulled all the strings bagging himself all four goals. Spartan now hope that Aston slip up against Chad park to ensure they qualify for the next round.
Group 3
With the quarter final places from group three already decided, pride was all that was at stake when Minster Lovell Reserves met Southrop Reserves. Josh Truby and Shane Imms gave the visitors a half time lead before Dave Barker (2), Ian Reynolds and Dan Oakey all scored to overturn the deficit and win 4-2.
Premier League
Freeland beat West Witney 2-0 with both goals coming from Chris Palmer.
Bampton Town edged away from the bottom three as they thumped fellow strugglers Cassington 5-2. Darryl Kew hit a hat-trick, with Paul McEntergart and Kevin Southwood adding. A rare but memorable headed goal from Craig Rackham and a penalty from Carl Osgathorp gave Cassington a glimmer of hope in the second half but it was not enough as Bampton took all three points.
Joe Cockroft scored for Hanborough in their game against Brize Norton, but it was not enough as Mark Jewell and Chris Marshall both found the back of the net for Brize earning them a 2-1 win.
North Leigh A drew a blank against Ducklington and remain rooted to the foot of the table as they went down 2-0. Stuart Cutts and Ian Peedle with the goals.
Division One
Witney Royals put on a table topping performance thrashing Ducklington Reserves 7-0. There were goals from Matt Thompson (2), Tom West and Steve Brasier, but Richard Benham lead the way with a hat trick.
Witney Wanderers overturned a half time deficit o end up 3-2 winners against Kingham AB. Tom Edington and Dave Lamb gave the home side the lead but goals from Chris Bennell, Gary Atkinson and Bernard Cumlish earned all three points for Wanderers to move them into second place.
Steve Holder was the hero for Minster Lovell as they beat Eynsham A 4-1. Craig Williams made it 4 after Craig Freeman had pulled one back for Eynsham.
Phil Caswell hit a brace as Aston beat FC Nomads 3-1. Joe Hewer added another before Tony Gerrard struck Nomads lone reply.
The points were shared at Milton where the hosts drew 3-3 with FC Mills. James Beaney, Paul Dray and Ollie Croxon scored for Milton with Chris Coggins, Rob DeBanks and warhorse Tim Pratley finding the net for Mills.
Division Two
Charlbury Reserves 0 - 2 Wootton Sports
In their second consecutive basement battle '6-pointer' Wootton Sports again came away with all 3 points, this time at Nine Acres.
The result was sealed in the first half with a double strike from Russell Bracey, the first forced over the line after an excellent free kick delivery to the back post by right back Paul ‘Smurf’ Simmonds. The second Bracey goal was a neat half volley finish after a scramble in the Charlbury penalty area.
In the second half Wootton hit the crossbar twice through Tom Gonzales and Bracey. The only real threat to the Wootton goal came from Wootton themselves with some interesting back passes between the defence.
Before the final whistle it was handbags at forty paces between the two teams, which resulted in a red card apiece for both teams.
The result moves Wootton above Tackley, West Witney Res and Spartan Res, who all either lost or did not play this weekend.

Goal Machine Dan Oyston Scored both goals in Bampton Town Reserves 2-1 win over Tackley. Craig Broome replied for the visitors.
Combe continued their good form with e a 3-1 win over West Witney Reserves. Both sides played good football but it was the home side that came out on top courtesy of goals from Sam Hibberd, Martin Reeves and Matt baker. Darren Aston replied for West Witney.
Division Three
Two Rivers good league form dried up against promotion rivals Kingham AB Reserves as they were beaten 5-3. The teams sitting in second and third played out the 8 goal thriller with Sam Philpott grabbing a hat-trick for the visitors. Rivers mounted a mini comeback in the second half through Tom Radburn, Peter Borchmann and Lee Butler but a Dan Davies double for Kingham ended their hopes.
With Division Leaders FC Chequers not in action, the result leaves the door open for Kingham to go above Rivers, who are level on points but have played a game more.
Division Four
Chad Park's title charge faltered slightly on Saturday as they could only manage a 1-1 draw with Milton Reserves. Dan Townsend gave Division 4 leaders Chad the lead at half time but a stike from Dan Search in the second half levelled the match.
February 16th
Oxfordshire Junior Shield QF
Brize Norton's cup run ended cruelly on Saturday by Broughton & North Newington.
Brize were drawing 1-1 with minutes to go after Matt Townsend had earlier scored for the home side, when a mix up at the back resulted in a clearance being smashed against scorer Townsend and ricocheting straight into the back of the net ejecting Brize from the competition, 2-1 the final score.
Supplementary Cup
Group 1
Eynsham Sports retained their perfect record in the cup by beating Chippy Swifts Reserves 3-1. Marksman John Ayres grabbed 2 with Dan Brooks netting the other. Chippy’s reply came from Rocky Burton.
Division three's Brize Norton A fought bravely against Wychwood Forest from Division two and earned a 3-2 win. Ben Simmons, Rob Hook and Matt Jupp were all on target, but a brace from Olly Bush in reply was enough to keep Wychwood, second in the group at this stage on goal difference alone.
Group 2
Witney Royals Reserves reversed their league fortune against Chad Park and came away with a 3-1 win. Andy Cross (2) and Richard Baker scored the goals that mattered while Steve Hunt replied for Chad. Royals are still top of the group.
Spartan Rangers A and Aston Reserves drew 1-1. Dan Andrews scored for the home side with the visitors equalising through an own goal.
Group 3
FC Chequers are through to the next round after a convincing 6-0 thrashing of Southrop Reserves. A very good team performance helped Paul Read bag a hat trick, with Dale Cox adding. Kev Davies increased the lead from the spot. Southrop were then reduced to 10 players after a player handballed on the line, so Chequers goalkeeper Danny Rayfield obligingly scored from the resulting penalty.
Hailey Reserves have also already secured their birth in the next round with a 1-0 win over Minster Lovell Reserves. Julian Evans with the only goal of the game.
Premier League
Local rivals Hanborough and Freeland met at the top of the Premier Division for the first time this season in a proverbial 6 pointer. The only goal of the game came in the second half when Darren McNamara long range strike found the top corner of the net giving Freeland a 1-0 win but more importantly moving them 5 points ahead of Hanborough in second place.
Nathan Beckett and Darryl Kew were on target for Bampton Town, but they still went down 3-2 to a resilient Cassington. Carl Osgathorp's penalty was added to by Leo Kennedy and Dave Cooper to take all three valuable points back to Elms Road.
Spartan Rangers beat Ducklington 2-1 in this mid-table meeting. Dave Large put Spartan ahead, before Matt Kent equalised. But Craig Isle popped up for the second game running to score the winner.
Hailey's faltering title charge took yet another blow as they were held to a 2-2 draw with Charlbury Town. Brother Dan and Joel King combined to give Hailey a 2-1 half time lead, but the home side took a point as Martin Grimsley and Andrew Woodley both netted.
At the 'wrong'’ end of the table the two bottom sides West Witney and North Leigh A battled hard for the points they need to escape the relegation zone. However neither side could find the telling strike and had to settle for a 1-1 draw. Wayne Forest and Jason Lonsdale scored for Witney and North Leigh respectively.
Division One
FC Nomads picked up a very well earned point in a 1-1 draw with high flying Witney Wanderers. Martin Bowling scored the goal for the home side with Sam Lucking replying for Wanderers.
Ducklington Reserves narrowly lost a seven goal thriller by the odd goal to Milton. Ian Lewis, Stu Cutts and Jake Souch were on the score sheet for the home side, but Paul Dray (2), David Jeynes and Phil Benfield scored the goals to give Milton the win.
Brize Norton beat Aston 3-1 with goals coming from Steve Morgan (2) and Dan Frizzell. Joe Hewer scored the reply for Aston.
Danny Harwood bagged both goals for FC Mills in their 2-1 win over Kingham AB. Rob Tyak scored for the visitors.
Division Two
Combe produced yet another dogged display and with the resulting 1-0 win over Southrop kept the heat on Division Leaders Bampton Town Reserves. Tim Wyatt scored giving Combe all three points.
Freeland Reserves earned their three points with a 3-1 win over Spartan Rangers Reserves. Andy Tabi (2) and Andy James with the goals. Craig Halkett replied for Spartan.
AC Finstock put on a good performance to beat Chippy Swifts 5-0. Dan Claridge bagged a brace with George Woodcock, Dean Mays and Chris Thomas adding.
In the battle at the bottom of the table, Wootton Sports emerged victorious after beating Tackley 2-1. Craig Broome found the back of the net for the home side but Russell Brazier and Chris Stewart hit the winning goals for Wootton.
Division Four
FC Chequers Reserves continued their impressive form with a 3-0 win over rivals Freeland A. Ben Davies opened the scoring from the spot after the visitors were awarded a controversial penalty which. He then doubled the lead via a deflected throw in before Ian Park came off the bench to seal a 3-0 win.
Wychwood Forest Reserves and Milton Reserves shared the points as they drew 1-1. Both goals came in the second half as Kevin Webb scored for the home side with Darren Chivers netting for Milton.
February 9th
Supplementary Cup
Group 1
Eynsham Sports took a big step towards progressing to the next round of the Supplementary Cup after an impressive 5-1 win over Brize Norton A. John Ayres was again on form as he claimed a hat-trick. Matt Walker and Dan Brookes scored Eynsham’s other goals. Kevin Temple replied for Brize.
The two bottom sides battled it out with Ducklington A emerging the right side of a 3-2 score line. Rocky Burton scored twice for Chippy Swifts Reserves but goals from Curtis Hobday (2) and Jason Hirschfield sealed the tie for Duck.
Group 2
Witney Royals Reserves remain unbeaten and top after a 2-2 draw with Spartan Rangers A. Dan Price and Mikey Piper scored both Royals goal, with Shane Brown grabbing both for Spartan.
Chad Park picked up a useful 3 points with their 4-1 win over Freeland A. Tom Cleevely blasted home a penalty, with Tim Allen and Tom Drinkwater adding. Mo Semlali scored the consolation goal for Freeland.
Group 3
FC Chequers remain top of their league after a 2-0 win over FC Mills Reserves. Steve Foster scored both goals for the home side.
Hailey Reserves won a thrilling match against Southrop Reserves. James Hale scored a hat-trick in the 4-3 win. Perry Tinson got the other while Richard Meredith (2) and Ady Kew replied for Southrop.
Group 4
Kingham Reserves 3-1 win over Milton Reserves keeps them top of their group. Dan Davies scored adding to a brace from Sam Phillpot. Dan Search’s reply was in vain.
Fieldtown produced a minor surprise as they beat Two Rivers 4-3. Leigh Butler, Peter Borchman and Bartek Lachwicz all scored for the visitors but it was Ollie Coles, Oliver Whitehall, Sam King and Simon King who scored the telling goals.

Freeland continue to rule at the top of the Premier Division after a 6-0 thrashing of West Witney. David Tarr scored a hat trick, with Paul Salter, Simon Hole and Chris Palmer adding.
Hanborough put an end to their poor form with a terrific 6-1 win over Ducklington. Dan Smith (2), Joe Cockroft, Neil Rose, Craig Johnson and Ben Glastonbury were all on the score sheet. Matt Kent was on target for Duck.
Jamie Timms and Craig Isle found the back of the net for the home side as Spartan Rangers picked up a shock 2-1 win over Hailey. Sean King scored the only goal for the visitors.
Kevin Trethowan was on target for North Leigh A in their 3-1 defeat to Bampton Town. Seweryn Siecinski, Paul McEntergart and Steve Godfrey scored the winning goals for the visitors.
Division One
FC Mills were minutes from taking all three points against runaway leaders Witney Royals, however couldn’t hold out, in a match that ended 2-2. Dan Harwood and Andy Moriarty scored the goals for Mills but a last minute Richard Benham, penalty salvaged a point for the visitors who had earlier taken the lead through Matt Thompson.
Witney Wanderers moved into second place courtesy of a 2-0 win over Kingham AB. The goals came from Chris Bennell and Luke finch.
Milton put on a splendid display, beating Minster Lovell 5-2. Pip Benfield and David Jeynes each scoring a brace with Tom Dorset adding. Richard Williams and Bradley Bryant’s goals for Minster were not enough.
The points were shared at Aston where the hosts drew 1-1 with Ducklington Reserves. Benji Sunblad and Jake William Souch scoring for Aston and Duck respectively.
Division Two
Bampton Town Reserves are now 9 points clear after a 7-0 demolition of Southrop. Dan Oyston helped himself to a hat trick, with Tom Madden (2), Wayne Bowles and Gareth Cook all getting in on the act.
Second place Combe were overcome by a resolute Freeland Reserves side. Adam Fleetwood and Simon Baker scored for Combe but a Tom Mason brace and a strike from new signing Simon Calley ended Combe’s winning streak.
Wootton Sports went down 3-0 to Chippy Swifts. Richard French, Justin Morgan and Warwick Thompkins all scored.
AC Finstock were on form and remain in third after a 5-0 win over Hanborough Reserves. Craig Mays hit a hat trick with George Woodcock and Chris Thomas adding.
West Witney Reserves picked up another valuable three points with a well earned 7-2 win over Charlbury Town Reserves. Tony McLeman helped himself to four goals with veteran Derek hewson adding. Darren Aston and Stu Donald also scored. Gary Jones and Craig McCallum were on target for the visitors.
Division Three
Simon Gibbs scored two goals, including a penalty in Wychwood Forest's 2-1 win over Minster Lovell Reserves. Ian Reynolds replied for the home side.
February 2nd
Oxfordshire Junior Shield
Freeland battled through to the semi-finals of the shield with a narrow 3-2 victory over AFC Hinksey. Dave Tarr, Paul Salter and Richard Trigg each with a goal a piece.
It was a walk in the park for Ducklington as they eased past Drayton Village 5-1. Gary Brookes increased his seasons tally by two, with Dan Walker, Matt Gorman and Matt Kent all adding.
Supplementary Cup
Group 1
Wychwood Forest made it two from two in their group as they beat Chippy Swift Reserves 2-0. Simon Gibbs got both the goals.
Division Four's Eynsham Sports emphatically opened their account with an impressive 6-2 win over Ducklington A. John Ayres stole the show bagging another four timer. Dan Brooks and Matt Walker got the others with Phil Harper and Will Graham netting for Duck.
Group 2
Witney Royals Reserves took 3 points from their opener with a convincing 5-0 thrashing of Freeland A. Loyd Edwards and Jamie Wearing each helped themselves to a brace with Stewart George getting the 5th
Group 3
FC Chequers recovered from last weeks defeat to beat Minster Lovell Reserves 4-0. Steve Foster (2), Shaun Rayfield and Paul Read all chipped in with the goals.
Southrop Reserves and FC Mills Reserves shared the points as they drew 1-1. Ady Kew gave Southrop the lead before a Rob DeBanks penalty leveled the score.
Group 4
Two Rivers and Kingham AB Reserves now have equal points at the top of their group after earning a point each in their 2-2 draw. Peter Borchman and Phil Mills, scored for the home side after Dan Davies and Rob Tyack had given Kingham the lead.
Milton Reserves beat Fieldtown 5-3 with Arrun Baker grabbing a brace. Billy Carter and Jason Thomas added with Jason Buffon completing the scoring for the home side. Ollie Whitehall and Same King (2) replied for the visitors.
Premier League
Hanborough dropped yet more points in successive weeks, this time going down 2-1 to a rejuvenated Charlbury Town. Ben Glastonbury scored for the home side, but a Matt Cox strike added to a Joe Cockroft own goal to give the visitors the 3 points.
Spartan Rangers, eased to a 4-1 victory over North Leigh A. A Dave Large hat-trick was the highlight. Jamie Coombes also scored for Spartan with Sean Perry replying in vain for North Leigh.
Division One
Witney Royals remain 10 points clear at the top of the division courtesy of a 3-2 win over Kingham AB. The closely fought match was decided by the odd goal with Steve Brasier, Richard Benham and Matt Thompson finding the net for Royals. Miles Harding and Alex Kelly’s goals were not enough for the visitors.
There was a surprise at Ducklington Reserves where the home side beat second placed Brize Norton Reserves 1-0. Jake William Souche’s lone stike was enough for the 3 valuable points.
Rogerio Pereira and Gerry Thomas were on target for Witney Wanderers in their 2-1 win over Aston. Pete Caswell with the Aston goal.
Eynsham A drew another blank against Milton as the visitors recorded a 2-0 win. David Jeynes and Graham Benfield were on target.
Division Two
Result of the day came at AC Finstock who beat runaway leaders Bampton Town Reserves 4-2. Going one better than their previous encountered, Finstock took, and held onto the lead to earn all three points. Craig Mays and Chris Thomas both hit doubles as Nathan Beckett and Paul McEntergart replied as Bampton recorder their first loss of the season.
Freeland Reserves showed no sympathy for basement boys Charlbury Town Reserves, giving them a 7-0 thrashing. Rob Belcher helped himself to a hat trick with Andy Tabi and Lee Walton both netting braces.
Chippy Swifts beat Hanborough Reserves 4-2. Richard French (2), Sean Weller and Gary Smith scored for the home side with Steve Brennan (2) replying for Boro’.
Simon Williams rammed home yet another hat trick as Southrop tore apart Tackley. Craig Broome and Chris Betreen scored for the hosts, but Southrop took the points with Scott Walters adding to Williams’ triple.
West Witney Reserves have started to put some results together, pulling themselves out of the relegation zone, most recently a 4-1 win over Spartan Rangers Reserves. There was a hat trick for Tony McLemen and a single for Stewart McDonald. Matt Imms scored Spartans consolation.
Keeper Leigh Grant scored from the spot in Wootton Sports 4-1 defeat at the hands of Combe. Combe move closer to top spot with the three points. The goals coming courtesy of Martin Reeve (2), Steve Smith and a superb finish from Matt Baker.
Division Four
Hailey Reserves eased back into league action with a 5-2 win over Wychwood Forest Reserves. Goals fro Rob Webb, Adam Morrisson, Julian Evans, Martin Bull and Rob Wheeler mean that only 2 points separate the top three sides. Nigel Jones and Kevin Webb’s goals for Wychwood proving mere consolation.
FC Chequers Reserves moved into 5th place after a 4-0 win over hosts Brize Norton A. The visitors took the lead though Justin Thomas, later increased by Anthony Barlow and Ian Park. Adam Izzard neatly rounded off the scoring after mazy dribble from centre back Ben Davies set up the chance.
